Job Description

Our client in Newcastle-under-Lyme are looking for a Quality & IT Administrator to join them on a permanent basis. The role is mainly responsible for processing large quantities of quality-related data including customer-defined requirements and businessmetrics. Another aspect of the role is responsible for supporting, developing and enhancing the groups IT infrastructure worldwide.QA Specific Responsibilities:-

  • Carry out data-entry activities for quality control related data including results from material testing and dimensional inspection results
  • Maintain supplier performance metrics and liaise with suppliers to improve performance
  • Maintain supplier database in line with procedures
  • Work within Quality & Technical team to identify and roll out continuous improvement activities to business
  • Maintain company training and personal development matrices
IT Specific Responsibilities:-
  • Maintenance and updating of software, hardware and network infrastructure for UK business and satellites in USA
  • Management of VOIP telephone system and user accounts
  • Development of business reports using crystal software
  • Interface with external service software and hardware providers
  • Provision of 1st / 2nd line support and training to a range of users remotely and at the desk side for IT and phone system
  • Support quality systems development and day to day QA operations
  • Internal auditing of company business units
  • Review computer database, storage and archives; rationalise and refine
Ancillary Responsibilities:-
  • Undertake continuous professional development (CPD)
  • Work with Group Quality Manager to provide support to teams in UK and USA
  • Ensure that all personnel comply with good working practices and data protection guidelines
  • Based at the UK headquarters with very occasional travel to US facility if required (approx. once or twice a year)
  • Flexible working hours to suit business requirements
Requirements/Skills:-
  • Undertake any tasks required by management which fall within the experience or capabilities of the individual
  • Compliance with company procedures and Health, Safety and Environmental Rules
  • English, Maths & Science GCSE (B or above, or equivalent) as minimum
  • A-level in Mathematics or Scientific discipline beneficial
  • Recognised ICT qualification degree level or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Knowledge of Windows, Server, Opera, Crystal, Active Directory, Exchange, HTML / PHP, VPN networks & remote working
  • Experience in both office and manufacturing environments beneficial
  • Experience in quality assurance and/or quality control and/or lean manufacturing preferred
  • Able to demonstrate consistent attention to detail and compliance to quality procedures
  • Drive and ambition to develop in role
  • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Be able to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Numeracy skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills
