Job Description

Elevation Recruitment are currently working with a well-established business based in Newark who are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join their hard working but very friendly and down to earth team.You will play a vital part in the procurement process by helping the procurement team in the purchasing of materials and services for various projects and contracts.Responsibilities of the Purchasing Assistant:

  • Help to contact a variety of suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain competitive quotes, ensuring cost-efficiency
  • Responsible for creating and placing purchase orders, ensuring accurate specifications and timely deliveries
  • Collaborate with suppliers to agree on delivery times that align with our operational requirements
  • Maintain records and keep work schedules to facilitate efficient tracking of procurement activities
  • Regularly update and maintain the Approved Supplier database, ensuring it reflects the latest information
  • Ensure that all materials and services comply with health and safety
  • Prepare and maintain supplier cost reports
  • Liaise with all departments within the organisation to facilitate effective communication and procurement processes
Requirements of the Purchasing Assistant:
  • At minimum of 1 years purchasing experience essential
  • Experience within an engineering, manufacturing or construction business
  • Ability to prioritise work to meet changing deadlines
  • Great team player
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
