Job Description

Are you are an experienced Clinical or Forensic Psychologist looking for a rewarding career, where you can make a difference and changes lives for the better If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you.You will work 22.5 hours a week alongside a multidisciplinary team at TheFarndon Unit, a purpose-built low secure hospital which offers personalised assessment and recovery-based treatment pathways, including a trauma specific pathway, for women with complexcare needs.As an experienced Clinical or Forensic Psychologist, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying service users caseload, including assessing service users with complex needs using psychometric measures, interpreting and reporting results to the LeadPsychologist and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments.Under the coordination of the Project Lead, you will manage and evaluate group and individual programmes, liaise with the wider team to review the results of the programmes and support the development of evidence-based practices, strategies and policies.You will enjoy support from a regional network of Psychologists and will be part of an environment where there is a strong emphasis on teamwork and CPD, where you will have continuous access to a range of training opportunities to move your career forward.Your Responsibilities:

  • Conducting research, and publishing and presenting work to required standards under the co-ordination of the Lead Psychologist
  • Developing links with other organisations to support service user care plans
  • Assisting with research requests, inputting to universities and accommodating visitors as required by the Lead Psychologist or designated other
To be successful in this role, you will:
  • BPS recognised psychology degrees
  • HCPC Registration
  • Chartered Psychologist status and appropriate post-graduate qualifications is desirable
  • To be an approved supervisor within the guidelines of the BPS and relevant division is desirable
  • Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
  • Experience of applying psychological knowledge to a forensic or psychiatric setting
  • Experience of working with clients with cognitive deficits is desirable
  • Previous experience of conducting research and project working
