Fancy building a PPM schedule from scratch And work for a company that listens to you on how it should be done No micromanagement....seems like the dream eh. But its not, its reality here.Youll be the first to bring in a production and maintenance schedule - it has been a long time coming. They can only see a week ahead for the production plan and then nothing beyond that. But they want someone to come in and tell them how tings need tobe done, so planning it all and being able to work with the teams closely to ensure they have a good understanding of what needs to be done - this will allow you to make some real great changes that will impact the business positively pretty quickly. The current team are used to working on what they want to in terms of maintenance rather than having a schedule to tell them what needs to be done. And as you know changing how a team works can be pretty challenging, but that wont scare you. There are currently 5 lines that you will schedule and plan. You might actually be quite tech savvy and if thats the case, theyd love for you to work on building a dashboard for the business and they will bring in power BI if thats something youve alsobeen involved in or want to develop yourself into.Growth - its there. Having recently won a project worth half a million, they are currently setting up a new steel processing line. As it continues to grow, the development into a more senior position will eventually be there are you can go into a MasterScheduler position and then have two people sat either side of the business across Maintenance and Production. But this is the future, right now they need all hands on deck, your experience of building PPMs and safety culture experience is needed. You willneed to set it all up, needs a lot of work and you will be the only person who knows the system.Maybe youve already increased efficiency with your current or previous employers, decreased machine downtime, increased effectivity of maintenance team and saved them money. Your aim will be to maintain them through the PPM so they last the life span theyare meant to.Management - would you believe one of the team who have been with the business said to the Ops Manager that this is the happiest hes been in the 10 years hes worked with the business. If that doesnt tell you how great the Ops Manager is and how open andsupportive he is, I dont know what is.The door is always open across the management team, you can go and sit with the MD and ask for help, or support and they are big on developing people internally into roles that is progression for those wanting it.So challenging Yes! but youre probably already used to this or know how to deal with conflict and get people on your side. In the first 3 months youll get embedded into the business, get to grips with safety culture (the system they use) and liaise withthe Maintenance Manager, setting up the PPM across the site. The bits you might want to know. Youll be working in a porter cabin, working closely with the Maintenance Manager and some of the Team leads sharing the office. This might not be set in stone in terms of where youll be sat, it can also change. But we needto be transparent! It is noisy and a dirty environment on the shop floor - the offices are opposite, dont worry. What youll need.
