Job Description

Head of Technical Salesc.£60KNear NewarkPermanent Full time Monday - FridayOur local client has achieved growth even through lockdown and as a result they are looking for a technically astute, commercially focused hands on Head of Sales who is able to lead the sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for Technical Sales, Business Development and oversee the Marketing team.Reporting directly to the MD, you will be reponsible with helping develop the strategic direction for the company and will be expected to implement the strategy across multiple departments.Main responsibilities will include:-

  • Development and implementation of the department’s strategic direction; encompassing sales calls, research, marketing activities, appointment making and trading as well as promotional campaigns, prospective and existing customer visits etc
  • Manage existing accounts by offering a high standard of service, together with the development of new accounts through the Business Development team. You will drive key accounts to maximise revenue and profits within the company.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of our service promise strategy, ensuring that we consistently offer an extremely high level of service and implement improvements where possible.
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance to our customers, developing and educating prospective customers on solutions using existing technical knowledge.
  • Lead the business development team in generating new business by cultivating inbound enquiries and supporting them in travelling to and visiting prospective customers to assess requirements and formulating a solution.
  • In order to be considered candidates must have;
  • A Technical/Engineering background, preferably within magnetics.
  • A proven track record of managing Technical Sales professionals within a target-led environment
  • A confident approach to networking and generating business through new customers/new routes to market.
  • A background within engineering, preferably within magnetics.
  • Strong sales and account management experience, with a structured approach to business development and customer retention
