The Clubhouse at Newark Rugby Club is becoming increasingly busy throughout the year. With further improvements, including the installation of air conditioning, we are attracting a wide range of external hires as well as hosting bigger and better Club events- including our much loved pre-match lunches.As the "number two" to our Bar Steward you’ll be responsible for providing outstanding customer service to our members and visitors. That might mean running the bar, leading food service at catered events or acting as host to the growing number of businessesusing Kelham Road for meetings and conferences.We are looking for someone with substantial hospitality experience who, after training, has the confidence and skills to fully deputise for our Bar Steward. That includes everything from opening up and setting out the Clubhouse to delivering a great experience,cashing up and ensuring the premises are secured on departure. You’ll have good supervisory skills, the ability to train staff and motivate and support them - especially when things are very busy.Flexibility is key as the hours required vary from week to week. You may need to come in early in the morning to set up for daytime meetings or come in mid to late afternoon to help re-set for the evening. The majority of larger events are evenings and weekendsand you should expect to work significant hours during the season (September to May).
