Job Description

Assistant AccountantNewark - Full Time - Permanent - c£28k Job Role Our Newark based client is seeking an additional team member to join their hard-working team. The role will carry out statutory monthly audits, statutory local and group reporting as well as carrying out reviews and summarising contractual information fortwo companies with a joint turnover in excess of 150M. Duties include;

  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monitor and record compliance records.
  • Action statutory returns - VAT, Intrastats, Sales, Tax, Sub-Contractor returns, PAYE and P11Ds.
  • Review internal warranty costs and summarise contract review sheets.
  • Inventory reviews, machine valuations and customer rebates.
  • Assist with month end closing including the Holiday Pay accruals.
Job Requirements The role would suit an analytical self-starter who enjoys working in a systematic role and adding value to an already established team. Using SAP systems to run the company accounts, word and excel skills are also required for the role. The position hassome regular tasks so a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage document heavy accounts duties is essential. Training and day to day support is given and the company are happy to fund further studies such as CIMA or ACCA qualifications although a degreein finance or AAT skills is desired.
