Job Description

A well-established company based in mid-Cheshire who has a long history of care services and the creation of retirement villages has a challenging and exciting Management Accountant position available.Reporting to the supportive Finance Manager the duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and associated reporting to strict deadlines.
  • Manage budget preparation, implementation and monitoring system.
  • Ensure the purchasing to payment process is completed efficiently.
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register accounting and capitalisation process.
  • Lead in maintaining and supervising the accounting and order processing system ensuring accuracy and integrity of the accounting data.
  • Direct line management of the Purchase Ledger Supervisor, Accounts staff and other staff as required, including recruitment, training and development.
  • Support co-ordination and planning activities within the team in line with organisational policy and procedures.
  • Maintain internal control system including overseeing of accounting and purchase ledger reconciliations.
  • Ensure delivery of budget monitoring reports, analyse and investigate variances to the budget and liaise with budget holders and service managers.
  • Ensure invoicing, reporting and budget monitoring in relation to Belong Village developments are delivered promptly.
  • Develop training resources and oversee the provision of training to Village staff and other users in relation to finance policy and procedures.
  • Propose improvements to financial reporting processes to maximise reliability and efficiency.
  • Participate in project work to support the development of robust and effective management and financial reporting.
  • Provide support in the absence of the Financial Accountant.
The Person
  • Part Qualified/Qualified Accountant
  • Strong in writing and maintaining reports/variance analysis
  • Advanced Excel/SQL (ideally)/Access
  • Strong communicator with positive attitude
  • Can do attitude
  • Hybrid role, 3 days in office and 2 days at home
