Job Description

Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer - Norfolk Opportunity:Are you currently working as an Electrical / Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer maintaining manufacturing equipment Does your experience include both hands on electrical repair work on manufacturing and utilities equipment Looking for your next contract If yes then this is the role for you.Your role as an Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer based in Norfolk will involve hands on fault finding, troubleshooting and maintaining the manufacturing and utility systems on site (boiler operation, compressed air generation, chilled water & cooling tower operation and effluent plant operations), critical systems (Water For Injection production - WFI, including water softeners, reverse osmosis and water distillation plants) and sterilisation processes across the site as well as implementing reactive, preventative and process development maintenance tasks.Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Performing all maintenance tasks associated with the utilities function.
  • Performing routine daily checks and inspections on utilities equipment, including steam boiler operation, effluent systems and CHP plant.
  • Maintaining the production and delivery of WFI through the processes of water softeners, reverse osmosis units, vapour compression distillation systems, water storage and distribution systems.
  • Fault finding PLC control systems, 3-phase and low-voltage electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Being part of the continuous improvement projects through good to great initiatives, 6S programs, budgeting exercises and spares identification.
  • This is a an approx. 3 months contract which the client will review for a possible extension however everything is dependent on the individual and business performance. The hourly PAYE rate is £21.29.You will be working on a Panama style 4-shift working rota in line with the active manufacturing process hours covering 24/7 operations.The hours of work are: 2 days and 2 nights then four off: Day 1 - 6.00 am to 6.00 pm; Day 2 - 6.00 am to 6.00 pm; Day 3 - 6.00 pm to 6.00 am; Day 4 - 6.00 pm to 6.00 am.Then four days off and back to the rotational shift as above.Skills:To apply for the role of Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer you will have:
  • Qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with Distilled Water Stills would be an advantage.
  • Experience in effectively identifying and proactively resolving complex technical manufacturing issues by direct intervention and correction.
