Job Description

The Head of Finance role has been newly created as a result of significant growth across the organisation. It will be heavily involved in building a new strategic plan and will also offer day-to-day responsibility for the finance team (5 people).Client DetailsAn SME in the Logistics & Distribution sector (Group turnover circa £200m).DescriptionThe Head of Finance will be responsible for the follows:

  • Build a new strategic plan
  • Provide financial input to the Management Board on special projects
  • Management of procedures and systems to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information
  • Monitor actual performance against budget, explain variances against budget and previous year and advise on any required action.
  • Manage working capital
  • Liaise with external tax advisers
  • To lead coach and mentor direct reports as part of the companys ongoing succession strategy, providing motivational leadership to assist with personal and professional development To assist with people matters, such as recruitment and selection, absenceand performance management, training and development and culture and engagement.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the companys business objectives by providing advice and guidance on financial strategy.
  • Develop and control the companys annual operating budget to ensure that all financial targets are met and financial and statutory regulations complied with.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to the companys managers and staff to enable them to achieve their objectives.
  • Oversee the preparation of the companys financial accounts to ensure that these are presented accurately and on time.
  • Oversee the payroll function to ensure employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Working with your team to ensure achievement of objectives and targets and continuously develop improvement initiatives
ProfileThe successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS) with previous experience in I&C. They will have held a people management role and will ideally be able to demonstrate experience and progression within a similar sized organisation.Job OfferThe successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary and benefits package.
