An opportunity has arisen for various Area Service Managers based within the West Region, and as part of the Operational and Regional Management teams. These posts are within the following Sub Regional areas 1 x Glasgow, 2 x Lanarkshire, 2 x Dumfries and Galloway, with a further 1 x 6 month secondment within the Regional team. Successful applicants will be advised of their base locations as part of the recruitment process.These managerial posts play a critical role in the achievement of the West Regional performance targets and the ongoing development of our continuous improvement agenda. The post holders will assume a role within the management structure for the West Region. In addition, the post holders will be expected to provide management support at operational incidents as required and participate in the Regional On-Call arrangements.You should possess the drive and enthusiasm to deliver results within tight timeframes and have an understanding of the key issues and challenges facing the Ambulance Service. It is essential that you possess excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, organisational and analytical skills along with the ability to effectively manage budgets and prioritise workloads. You should be able to demonstrate strong leadership and have the ability to build, motivate, mentor and lead teams.You should ideally have previous experience of stakeholder engagement and have been involved in managing projects. Previous managerial experience is essential, and involvement in managing change, working with internal / external partners and implementing local delivery plans would be an advantage. The achievement of or working towards a management qualification would also be advantageous.You must be committed to improving quality and standards of care, procedures and technology and support cultural change.
