Job Description

Summary Join our great team! Working within the historic mansion at Wallington in the heart of Northumberland you will play an integral part in the welcome of visitors within a historic setting. As a Service Assistant you will play a core part in providing first-class customer service.You will demonstrate a passion for local history and bringing the stories alive and the history of the families who lived here at this special place.The available are hours- 2 x 4 hours shifts [11.30 -3.30] may include weekends and bank holidays with no evenings or split shifts.Fixed term contract availableuntil 8th Jan 2023. What its like to work here Wallington is set in the middle of Northumberland approximately twenty miles north-west of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne. The house, at the south end of an estate which extends to nearly 13,500 acres, is surrounded by parkland and arable farmland wateredby northern tributaries of the river Wansbeck. From the house the land rises to the estate village of Cambo, and then on to poorer upland grazing, peaking at Hemmel Hill in Harwood Forest (330 metres, 1083 ft) towards the north of the estate. Shaftoe Cragis prominent in southern views from the estate; to the east Rothley Crag, topped by a folly castle, guards the road to Scotland; and to the north and west are the Simonside Hills and the Cheviots. In its glorious countryside setting Wallington survives, oneof the great estates of the north, owned by a single family, loved and embellished by succeeding owners for nine generations. Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing As a Service Assistant at Wallington, you will deliver great visitor service/welcome within a historic setting based in the mansion at Wallington. Working alongside a small team of ServiceAssistants and other Conservation house staff you will develop & demonstrate a good knowledge of the history of the house sharing its stories to the wide variety of visitors visiting the property. You will engage with visitors projecting a friendly, helpful and appropriate manner. You will demonstrate a passion for local history and bringing the stories alive and the history of the families who lived here at this special place.You will engage with our visitors and pass on information about other areas of the property, its facilities & events & wider work of the Trust. You will have flexible customer focused approach and may help out in other areas if needed. Who were looking for
