Job Description

Special Needs Teaching AssistantARP Attached to a Mainstream Primary SchoolMertonTo start after February half-term COVID-19 Notice -We will not be interviewing candidates face to face, we will instead be interviewing via video link. Vetting procedures will be carried out online.A great inclusive mainstream Primary school is seeking a committed special needs teaching assistant to join their outstanding team. The school has an inclusive resource provision for students with autism. As a Special Needs TA, you will be responsiblefor providing both group and one-on-one support in the classroom. The school wants you to be dynamic because youll be working with a variety of children who have varied degrees of need. You should anticipate working with students that require assistance inEnglish and maths as well. In addition to their academic needs, the children will also require assistance with their motor skills and social skills. The cohort includes some students with social, emotional, and mental health issues. The school is looking forsomeone with a passion for supporting children with special needs.

  • £80-£95 per day, dependent on experience and qualifications
  • Holiday pay and pension
  • Full-time, long-term (at least until the end of the academic year, possibly longer for the right candidate)
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:
  • Be proactive
  • Ideally have good experience working one-to-one and in groups
  • Have good understanding of special needs
  • Work well in a team
  • Have a positive attitudfe
