Job Description

** Keen on working in an SEN School with behavioural challenges****Able to develop a strong rapport with disobedient and challenging learners****Able to make a difference to a learner where a Mainstream School setting hasn’t helped****Experience working as either an SEN TA or Youth Worker or Learning Mentor****Do you live in close proximity to Merton**Due to departmental changes, this SEN School in the borough of Merton is recruiting for an outstanding SEN TA! This is a long term and FT post to start immediately! The successful SEN TA / Learning Mentor / Youth Worker will be resilient, empathetic, dedicated and a pro-active member of support staff. You have worked with SEN students (ASD/ ADHD/ SEN/ Challenging Behaviour etc) within either a SEN School / Alternative Provision / PRU /Mainstream School or in a Youth Centre. It is essential that you have worked with children and/ or young people on a 1:1 basis and within small groups.

  • Experience with children or vulnerable young people with behavioural challenges
  • Must have worked as either an SEN TA / Youth Worker / Learning Mentor or an LSA
  • 1:1 experience with young people or children with SEN
  • Must be able to build a strong rapport with your learners
  • Can cope under pressure & a resilient individual
  • Dedicated to safeguarding children & young people
  • Must have worked with children or young people in either a mainstream Secondary School / SEN School / Alternative Provision / PRU or Youth Centre
  • Must either have an in date DBS with the update service or willing to pay and complete a DBS application ASAP
