Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Croydon & SuttonFull Time/Part timeNegotiable RatesInterviews taking place ASAPEducation is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. -Nelson MandelaWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our local schools in Croydon and Sutton. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers and other support staff to providetailored support to students with special educational needs. If you are passionate about supporting students with SEN and believe you have the skills and experience required for this SEN Teaching Assistant role, we encourage you to applyPlease submit a cover letter and resume to us now!Job role:The role involves supporting students with Social, emotional & behavioural difficulties, predominately pupils on the Autistic spectrum and with EBD but within a mainstream setting. This is a role of working within Education and could be as classroom assistant,1:1 or 2:1 basis.Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN
  • Assisting teachers in the delivery of lessons and adapting materials as needed
  • Supporting students with physical and personal care, as required
  • Monitoring and recording student progress and communicating this to teachers and parents
  • Participating in team meetings and professional development opportunities
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a Level 2 qualification in SEN support (e.g. NVQ, CACHE)
  • Experience working with students with SEN, either in a paid or voluntary capacity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient and supportive approach
