Job Description

A Fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated appointed person to join a growing family run business who tailor solutions to a variety of high end industries including Chemical & Utility.

  • Lift Planning: Develop comprehensive lift plans and CAD drawings for all lifting operations, considering factors such as load weights, centre of gravity, site conditions, and environmental factors.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all lifting operations comply with H&S regulations as well as industry safety standards and best practices.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate risks associated with lifting activities.
  • Site Inspection: Visit job sites to assess site conditions, equipment, and access points to determine the suitability for lifting operations.
  • Equipment Selection: Select appropriate lifting equipment and accessories, including cranes, slings, and rigging gear, based on the lift plan and load requirements.
  • Permitting: Obtain all necessary permits and authorisations for lifting operations, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Communication: Liaise with project managers, site supervisors, crane and driver operators to communicate lift plans, safety procedures, and any special considerations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of lift plans, risk assessments, permits, and other relevant documentation.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and communicate emergency response plans in case of accidents or unexpected events during lifting operations.
  • Training and Education: Provide training and guidance to crane and driver operators and rigging teams on safe lifting practices and the proper use of equipment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously review and update lift plans and safety procedures to incorporate lessons learned and best practices.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and control costs related to lifting operations, ensuring that they align with project budgets.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Construction Management) or equivalent work experience.
  • CPCS A61 as an Appointed Person or equivalent credential in lifting and rigging.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards related to lifting operations.
  • Proficiency in using lift planning software and CAD .
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure. Experience:
  • 5 years of experience in planning and overseeing lifting operations.
  • Experience in a construction or industrial setting.
  • Experience working with various lifting equipment and cranes.
Additional Details:
  • Monday – Friday – 8am – 5:30pm
  • 20 days holiday plus 8 statutory bank holidays, plus up to 5 additional days leave after long service
