Job Description

Our very well established, local client, based in Mirfield are seeking an experienced Accounts Administrator to support their small and friendly team, who is willing to pitch in and thrives on adding value’. This varied role includes credit control, sales,and purchase ledger, administration, as well as payroll support.The right candidate will be personable, have a keen eye for detail, strong organisation skills and previous experience of working in an accounts environment. Additionally, you will be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular,Excel, Outlook and Teams.The hours of work are offered on a flexible basis so would be ideal for someone wanting to work school hours or up to full-time - Between the hours of 8:30am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.As an Accounts Administrator, your key responsibilities will be:Office Administration Support

  • General office duties including answering and transferring calls, welcoming visitors, handling incoming / outgoing mail, and filing
  • Ensuring all vehicles are taxed and inspection certificates electronically saved
  • Fuel ordering and fuel card management
  • Liaising with customer services / order team
  • Matching delivery notes from suppliers
Finance & Procurement
  • Processing customer invoices via Mandata and QuickBooks
  • Checking and processing of supplier invoices and statement reconciliations
  • Credit control - chasing overdue customer payments via telephone and issuing statements and reminder letters
  • Assist with accounts queries
  • Ad-hoc purchases ensuring best value for money
  • Administration of company credit cards and expenses
  • Dealing with purchase and sales ledger
  • Assisting the financial accountant with various duties
  • Managing internal debit notes, and matching to supplier credit notes
  • Producing journals
  • Accounts up to trial balance
Payroll & HR
  • Assisting with payroll to cover holidays
  • Preparation of monthly payroll
  • Dealing with employee payroll queries
  • Co-ordinating the induction of new staff
  • Setting up new employees onto the payroll and pension system
  • Submissions to HMRC
  • Ensuring all employee details in HR system are up to date
  • Updating employee holiday and sick records
Health & Safety
  • Ensure all employee training, refreshers and professional certificates are up to date
  • Updating and completing internal quality records when required
Previous experience required for the Accounts Administrator:
  • Previous experience of working in an accounts environment is ESSENTIAL
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to manage own workload and work without supervision
  • Excellent prioritisation, organisation, and time management skills
  • It is desirable to have some credit control and payroll knowledge, however, full training will be provided
