Quality Inspector £Negotiable plus excellent benefits packageOur Cambridgeshire client is looking for a bright and proactive Metrology Inspector to join their growing team in Cambridge. If you are a quality inspection professional with excellent knowledge of inspection techniques and the use of modern CMM inspectionequipment or someone with the ability and willingness to learn and with demonstrable desire for getting improvements in product quality, then this is the role for you.Responsibilities for the Quality Inspector You would join a growing, busy but close-knit quality team and, under the direction of the Quality Team Leader, would be performing in-process inspection and testing of finished product and the responsibility of delivering conforming product to customers. Thiswill primarily involve: Completing your daily workload and dedicated completion of inspection tasks in a timely mannerThe running and programming of CMM measurement equipmentVerify the conformity of parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies in line with engineering drawings, the quality management system, any other specific requirements, and document non-conformance.The ability to use a wide range of inspection and test equipment in line with documented instructionsEnsure the comprehensive completion and auditable traceability of inspection records.Support continuous improvement activities as required.Maintain all area 6S requirements ensuring that the business targets are maintained, and corrective / improvement plans exist where requiredTake an active part in continuous improvementLiaise with other internal departments e.g. Production, Engineering etc. to resolve manufacturing issues where identified by the Quality Team Leader or Operations Quality Manager.Take an active role in the reduction of non-conformance.Quality Inspector experience An ONC/HNC in an Engineering discipline or relevant experienceDemonstrable metrology skills/experienceGood communication skills both verbally and writtenBe a team player in attitude and values supporting the Quality Team LeaderThe ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative both internally and externally where directedWork to tight timescales whilst maintaining quality standardsThe courage and confidence to challenge product progression in the event of discovering a non-conformanceA positive mindset and good judgement skillsOur client is committed to promoting a diverse, open and collaborative work environment a place where you can be yourself and succeed on merit.
