Test Development Engineer X2 - Cambridge or Middlesbrough Flexible working Highly completive salary plus incredible employee benefitsMicroTECH Global has partnered with a rapidly growing semiconductor company, who are looking to hire a Test Development Engineer to join their growing team.In this role you will encompass a wide range of test development and circuit evaluation of both analogue and digital integrated circuits, working alongside IC designers as we develop new technology processes and new designs.Key Skills:Work with design and process engineers to develop new structures for monitoring the manufacturing process.Working in the lab you will design, develop, document and implement procedures for evaluating and testing.Write programs in Python or LabVIEW to control test equipment (such as oscilloscopes, pattern generators and source measure units)Analyse test data for high quantities.Identify failure modes, and how they relate to specific elements of design or the manufacturing process.Identify the root cause of failures and advocate potential solutions.Write reports and present your findings and provide fast feedback to other engineers to allow us to quickly iterate designs.Drive continuous improvement and best practice for testing and evaluation.To be considered for this role you will have the following:The successful candidate will be educated to degree or postgraduate degree level in Electronics, Engineering, Physics or possess equivalent experience.Hands on experience of electronic test equipment: oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital pattern generators, waveform generators, VNAs etcDemonstrable use of semiconductor test equipment such as Probe stations, SMUs and LCRsPrevious experience of PXI test systems (advantage)Samples of experience in remotely controlling instruments through scripting in Python, LabVIEW or similarFamiliarity with statistical methods and software tools for data analysisDemonstrable use of PCB CAD tools (advantage)Understanding of thin film electronics (advantage)A strong understanding of electronics and its core principlesA strong ability to solve technical problems with many different variablesA strong ability to work to tight deadlines and progress multiple projects simultaneouslyPlease get in touch with Christina McGuire to hear more about this role.
