It provides predominantly further education but also selected higher education provisions to over 13,000 students. Middlesbrough College also employs over 1,000 staff out of their £100m state of the art campus on the banks of the tees.Whilst retaining and developing its traditional offering it has also recently been selected as the Tees Valley hub of the North Easts Institute of Technology - A new concept providing higher technical training through collaboration between further and highereducation and employers. The funding secured through the Institute of Technology has been invested in extending the Colleges STEM Centre, the latest expansion of the Middlesbrough College group, bringing a range of academic, technical, and vocational trainingopportunities to learners across the region.Teesside is set to benefit from a number of exciting developments! To name but a few, the largely discussed Freeport and the creation of a treasury northern campus will bring revenue that will create a vast number of opportunities to the people of our region.Responsibilities; To develop, lead and implement a Cross-College Student Engagement Strategy which ensures that there is a diverse range of activities that enrich the student experience. Manage and lead on the Student Voice within the College, supporting and developing a proactive and responsive Student Council and Student Representatives system so that the student voice is fully represented at all levels, including higher education. Plan, promote and support the Student Officer elections, increasing awareness and participation amongst students. To implement and manage a Student Ambassador Programme and liaise with Faculties / Directorates and cross-college support areas to maximise the deployment and utilisation of the Student Ambassadors. To manage the MC Active Team, associated budgets and related activities, to ensure maximum opportunities are available for student participation in sports and fitness activities. To lead on and manage a variety of cross College activities/events that support student personal development, behaviour and welfare, including a Freshers Fayre. Produce and manage a variety of non-sporting enrichment activities that are engaging and fun, ensuring that the impact on the students is evidenced and adds value to an outstanding student experience. Develop a programme of enterprise and volunteering opportunities and for students and increase participation within the community. Ensure that work within the teams is completed accurately and on time and that workloads are evenly distributed. To provide reports on the access, usage and impact of all the services as requested. To develop strong, positive working relationships with internal and external colleagues. To actively show a commitment to the Departmental Strategic Objectives. To show an active commitment to the Colleges Equality and Diversity Policy, Quality Frameworks and Health & Safety Procedures. To actively participate in Continuous Professional Development including the introduction of new technologies to allow you to contribute effectively to the success of the College. To carry out such other appropriate duties commensurate with your skills, knowledge and experience. The College may, in consultation with you, need to vary these duties from time to time in order to respond to the changing requirements of the College.Qualifications To hold a relevant qualification at Degree level. Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent) or willing to work towards it. Personal commitment to keeping your professional knowledge up to date and improving your capabilities - Desirable. To be willing to work towards Middlesbrough Colleges Advanced Practitioner ProgrammeExperience Experience of working in a further/higher education environment and engaging stakeholders at different levels. Experience in planning, managing and organising a range of events. Previous experience of supporting staff. Experience in managing and co-ordinating the work of others. Experience of project management and budget monitoring.
