Applications are invited from suitably qualified HCPC State Registered Biomedical Scientists for the above post.We are looking for an enthusiastic HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with appropriate experience, knowledge and skills to join our scientific team and participate in the delivery of services provided by Haematology within the Blood Sciences directorate at The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough and the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton. This will involve the delivery of specialist scientific duties within General Haematology, Coagulation and Blood Transfusion. The department is UKAS ISO15189 accredited.Rotation through all three sections within Haematology will provide candidates with a wide range of experience. Candidates should ideally be HCPC State Registered and hold an IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Haematology however consideration will be given to those who are currently working towards these qualifications. These candidates will be employed at Annex 21 of the Band 6 pay scale until the successful completion of the Specialist portfolio and competency manuals within each section.A Band 5 trainee BMS close to completion of their IBMS Registration Portfolio with relevant Haematology experience may also be considered for this post.The Haematology department operates a 24/7 service, 365 days a year. Following appropriate training and competency assessment, the successful candidate will be expected to fully participate in our shift system, which includes weekends, nights and Bank Holiday working.South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is committed to developing excellence and staff motivation is high on the agenda.
