Job Description

Location: Teesside, with hybrid working optionsReporting to: CEO DirectReports: 3 direct reports:

  • Front-End Engineer
  • Junior Software Engineer
  • Senior Software Engineer
The roleLaunched in 2019, our client is a startup software company focusing on tools that bolt on to the websites of online casinos and operators in iGaming, to improve their conversion rates and maximise revenue.Were looking for a Development Team Leader to lead our growing team of talented software and front-end engineers, to help us create truly industry leading iGaming solutions. This is a great opportunity for someone to manage a growing team, in a rapidlygrowing company.Responsibilities include, but arent limited to:
  • Lead and develop our in-house software engineers to deliver our product roadmap as well as new and/or bespoke, innovative projects for clients that are robust and fit for purpose
  • Line management of team, including: recruiting, 121s, coaching and mentoring, progression planning, appraisals, reviewing work and providing feedback
  • Review our current software development methodology, providing feedback on current processes and implementing any changes
  • Be accountable for the quality and technical approach taken by team members, ensuring it is in-line with the company strategy - and that projects are delivered on time and on budget
  • Drive consistent standards and approaches throughout the team, ensuring they are writing clean and structured, well documented code
  • Own the engineering workflow including the backlog, and work with our Head of Operations and CEO to prioritise and allocate work based on business needs
  • Own the product roadmap alongside our Head of Operations, keeping key stakeholders up to date on delivery
  • Deliver code which is well tested and consistently error free
  • Creating and maintaining a professional culture within the team, where individuals take ownership and are fastidious and proud of delivering excellence and quality
  • Working with other areas of the business to ensure smooth onboarding of clients, including integration with their site, setting up tracking, and any troubleshooting
  • Keep up to date with the latest software development technologies and methodologies
  • Represent our client at industry events and on webinars as required
The ideal candidateWe are looking for someone with full-stack software development experience, who is comfortable leading a remote team. When it comes to personal attributes, our Development Team Leader will be:

  • A strong communicator, able to discuss and deliver ideas, updates, and solutions to stakeholders of all levels and varying technical understanding

Its an all-hands-on-deck vibe, and youll need to be able to pivot and re-prioritise as our needs change, as well as get stuck in ontasks that may be outside of your job role at times
