Job Description

CK Group are recruiting for a Site Chemist on behalf of well established waste management company at their site in Middlesbrough on a full time, permanent basis.The company operate nationwide and they are award winning in their field. Specialising in the transport and disposal of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste, they now have a fantastic opportunity for a Site Chemist to join the team. Hours are 40 per week,MondayFriday with weekly rotating shifts: 6am-3.30pm, 7am-4.30pm and 9am-5.30pm. This is an exciting time to join the team as they are currently expanding due to their strong standing within the industry and excellent reputation for the quality of workthey deliver to their clients. The company offer WAMITAB training, upon completion of which a pay rise is offered.   • Operating process plant in line with permit, procedures and consent to discharge.
  • Analysing all incoming loads in a timely fashion designating process routes to site personnel.
  • Operating all laboratory processes in a safe and efficient manner, using the correct Personal Protective Equipment and working within the Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ensure the provision of the correct documentation for all incoming and outgoing loads.
  • To provide analytical information that will optimise vehicle turnaround time, processing efficiency and customer service.
  • To assist in the development and improvement of site activities and processes including the analysis of samples for new potential waste streams.
  • Take appropriate action with respect to waste acceptance and rectifying any problems.
Your Background:You will have the following skills and experience:
  • HNC or equivalent in chemistry
  • Proven relevant industry experience
  • Ability to assess potential safety/ environmental/ plant impact of processing hazardous waste
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain rapport with customers so as to promote and maintain positive customer relations
The following would be advantageous:
  • Good knowledge of hazardous waste
  • Technically competent in the handling of Hazardous Chemicals
