Job Description

SENDCoLocation: Middlesbrough, North YorkshireFull time, permanent position - term time onlySalary: £30,000 - £45,000Are you a creative, forward-thinking, inclusive, caring and ambitious SENDCo with the drive and commitment to raise achievementAre you passionate about providing the best opportunities and outcomes for young people who have SEN and disabilitiesThen join our inspirational client in Middlesbrough and make a difference to the lives of our students every day.Supporting young people aged 11-19 they are a fantastic provision supporting young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties who have been excluded or who are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.The role:We are seeking a creative, forward-thinking, inclusive, caring and ambitious SENCO with the drive and commitment to raise achievement for the pupils at this school. To work as SENCO you will be passionate about education and inclusion and able to effectivelymanage the SEND provision in partnership with the Headteacher.Key Duties:

  • Support with the strategic development of SEND provision in the school.
  • Complete Annual Reviews, Interim reviews and Emergency Reviews of EHCP’s in line with the SEND code of practice
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability.
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies.
  • Advise on the use of school’s budget and other resources to meet pupils’ needs effectively, including staff development.
  • Promote inclusion in the school community and access to the curriculum.
  • Leading and managing staff and the effective deployment of staff and resources.
  • Quality assurance of Teaching and Learning with a focus on SEND provision.
  • Attend and review PEP meetings.
Experience /Qualifications:
  • An accredited SENCO qualification
  • Experience within SEN / SEMH
