Job Description

CY Partners are currently looking to recruit two R&D Technicians on behalf of a pharmaceutical company at their site on Teesside on a permanent basis.The main fields of activity in this role concern experimental work in the area of R&D with a focus on API process development (Scale-up) of pharmaceutical products. Support in organizational as well as safety-related tasks.This would be a fantastic opportunity for a Chemistry graduate with a particular interest in Organic Chemistry to gain an entry level role into the field.Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out all activities in the area of small molecule API research and development in accordance with ISO and cGMP standards.
  • Carrying out chemical process including synthetic chemistry.
  • Carrying out analytical measurements, e.g. NMR, HPLC, GC-MS, GC
  • Organization of lab work incl. waste disposal management
  • Assisting in the development of optimized production processes in compliance with the necessary regulations
  • Assistance in the implementation of production processes and sample production
  • Collaboration in the creation and introduction of development reports / batch records, standard operating procedures (SOPs),
  • Technical support as well as carrying out regular maintenance/calibration work on laboratory and pilot equipment
Candidate requirements:
  • Educated to BSc/MChem level in Chemistry or related subject or equivalent Lab experience
  • Laboratory experience in synthetic chemistry
  • Active problem-solving attitude and an eye for detail
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical industry environment with understanding of cGMP regulations desired
  • Advanced knowledge of process development and separation technologies (e.g. distillation and chromatography)
  • Ability to work in a team, flexibility, ability to work under pressure, Independent, solution- and quality-oriented way of working
Due to the location of the site, access to personal transport is required.
