Job Description

Our clientGreen Lithium Refining Limited believes the electric revolution is fundamental to reducing the carbon emissions that contribute to global climate change. Securing the supply and refining capability of lithium chemicals is a vital step in enabling the electricrevolution and this is where Green Lithium steps in.There is currently no large-scale lithium chemicals refining capability in Europe despite a significant market opportunity. Working with key strategic partners to address the need to improve the European battery-metal supply chain, Green Lithium will supportthe net-zero ambitions of society to transition to the future green economy.They are on an exciting journey to build the first large-scale lithium refinery in the North-East of England. Once operational, the refinery will produce high-purity lithium chemicals and will employ 250 local, highly skilled people.The company will harness industry-leading process technology enabling clean, low-carbon processing of high volumes of lithium ore whilst supporting long-term economic prosperity in the local area.The opportunityConstruction is experience to take 3 years and the plant will be commissioned during 2025.Appointing into the Mechanical Project Engineer is an important step in creating the project delivery team. The refinery will be a first of a kind (FOAK) construction working with a number of key strategic partners to ensure success.As Mechanical Project Engineer, you will take ownership and responsibility for the mechanical project engineering input to support the refinery construction project. Working closely with the Site Development & Construction Project Manager, you will pro-activelycontribute to the project progression by resolving technical engineering issues with and between Green Lithiums strategic partners. You will take ownership & responsibility for the technical management, quality and project planning to deliver on time tobudget by collaborating with partners. You will be involved extensively in design reviews from FEED through to commissioning and installation. You will provide effective challenge and influence both internally & externally to continue to review engineeringbest practice to maximise performance.About youAs a degree qualified Mechanical Engineer, you will have considerable experience in managing large scale projects from FEED through to commissioning and installation. You will have proven experience in managing project budgets and contractors to solve problemson time to budget.With well-developed communication skills, you will be able build effective long-term relationships with contractors to challenge and influence whilst driving the project; whilst giving confidence with Directors on delivery. Your flexible and responsive approachto solving problems will enable you to continue to develop effective project systems whilst maintaining progress on this exciting and challenge project. With strong mechanical project engineering experience, you will have considerable experience with pressureregulations and a variety of heavy plant assets including rotating equipment, autoclaves & turbines in large scale complex processing plants.This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the areas most exciting businesses as they build the UKs first lithium refinery bringing huge opportunity to the region.Green Lithium actively seeks to recruit people from all walks of life as we fundamentally believe a diverse, inclusive workforce builds the most creative and talented teams.
