Job Description

Our client, based in Middlesbrough, is looking for a Tank Farm Operator/Assistant Production Planner reporting into the Operations Manager. The candidate will be responsible for the safe loading and off-loading of bulk chemical tankers, this will includeproducing all relevant receipt and despatch documentation.Hours of work would be Monday - Friday 35 hours per week. 8.00am - 4.00pm.Other duties will include:

  • General maintenance, housekeeping and managing tank farm through periodical testing and repairs of equipment, to ensure the bulk storage and despatch activities are being managed to the highest safety standards
  • In addition to this you will be required to act as relief cover for the production planner during holidays and other absences. These duties will include generating the production plan, including optimisation of stock and batch sizes according to requirements
  • Responsible for the procurement and scheduling of packaged and bulk raw materials with consideration for inventory levels and stock rotation
  • Organising the warehouse chemical segregation, compiling and reporting manufacturing metrics and reports for the site
  • Taking responsibility for non-stock items and associated framework orders and invoices and communicating with the shipping department including scheduling of collections.
  • Responsible for all despatch PGIs, printing of production batch sheets and labels according to production scheduling and the analysis, verification and archiving of completed batch sheets
  • Covering for the forklift driver to cover holidays and to assist with workload if required
  • Be the main point of contact and administrator for various site systems including safety, sharepoint and the learning management system
Requirements:
  • Educated to GCSE level grade C or above in Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Excellent IT skills
  • An accurate way of working and an ability to work under pressure
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Previous experience of operating tank farms would be a distinct advantage
  • Good working knowledge of SAP
  • An ability to work independently as well as a member of a purchasing team and cross-functional team
  • Counterbalance FLT license (or willing to learn).
