Our Client:Green Lithium Refining Limited believes the electric revolution is fundamental to reducing the carbon emissions that contribute to global climate change. Securing the supply and refining capability of lithium chemicals is a vital step in enabling the electricrevolution and this is where Green Lithium steps in.There is currently no large-scale lithium chemicals refining capability in Europe despite a significant market opportunity. Working with key strategic partners to address the need to improve the European battery-metal supply chain, Green Lithium will supportthe ‘net-zero’ ambitions of society to transition to the future green economy.They are on an exciting journey to build the UK’s first Scale Up Plant and Full Scale lithium refinery in the North-East of England. Once operational, the full scale refinery will produce high-purity lithium chemicals and will employ 250 local, highly skilledpeople. The company will harness industry-leading process technology enabling clean, low-carbon processing of high volumes of lithium ore whilst supporting long-term economic prosperity in the local area.The Opportunity:The appointment of a Manufacturing Readiness Manager is an important step in their plans to implement operational excellence into this brand new manufacturing process; developing the equipment, processes and building a world class manufacturing team for thescale up plant for this first of a kind (FOAK) technology. The ultimate responsibility for this role is to work closely with the Project Management team to challenge and influence the detailed design for the plant and process to ensure that once the equipment is commissioned and installed it can effectively and efficientlyproduce product on a consistent basis. Once the plant has been handed over to operations the role will focus on optimisation of processes to prove the technology and process.As the Scale Up Plant becoming operational, this role may further develop into Operational Management of a large full-scale refinery.About you:As an experienced manufacturing professional you will have considerable experience in the development of process for new equipment and/or product, whether this is in the capacity of Production Management, Quality Management or Snr Production Technical roles.You must have a strong and demonstratable ability to manage, lead and develop teams whilst adding value through CI and driving improvements within a heavy industrial plant.You will be a real problem solver,comfortable with creative thinking, developing new process and revisiting ideas within a continually changing and evolving product arena with the ability to work alone and without established process support. As the onlyOperational expert within the team you must be confident of vision and subsequent delivery of a sound operations infrastructure.Very strong communication skills with trusted ability to influence with be a real focus in terms of working effectively with the Project Management team.A degree in Chemical and/or Mechanical Engineering would be an advantage, however strong knowledge and understanding of HAZOPS within the minerals or chemical industry would also be a strong considerationThis is an exciting opportunity to join one of the area’s most exciting businesses in the next stage of their growth as they build the UK’s first lithium refinery, bringing huge opportunity to the region.Green Lithium actively seeks to recruit people from all walks of life as they fundamentally believe a diverse, inclusive workforce builds the most creative and talented teams.
