Job Description

James Cook University HospitalFull Time, Permanent£34,000 - £36,000 pa + Excellent Corporate Benefits PackageThe James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is a designated major trauma centre and provides all its specialties from one site which is unique for a hospital of its size. James Cook provides a wide range of district general hospital services andspecialist services. It has 1,024 beds, a 24-hour acute admissions unit and an emergency department which houses the major trauma centre for Durham, East Cleveland, Tees Valley and North Yorkshire and has its own helipad.Serco provide back office support services for James Cook University Hospital which include a variety of Soft and Hard FM Services including Catering, Cleaning, Maintenance and Portering.The Lifecycle Building and Fabric Project Manager will be responsible for the management and delivery of programmed/reactive building and fabric lifecycle projects across the site. This will include participation in all associated project concept planningand design, co-ordination, delivery and stringent quality control.We are looking for someone with proven operational and project delivery experience within facilities management and knowledge of Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contracts, to manage the delivery of any programmed and reactive Life Cycle works. You willparticipate in project concept planning, design and tendering, co-ordination of project delivery with stringent quality/cost control.This is an operational management role, where you will be expected to collaborate effectively with colleagues, internal and external partners to drive success with managing, interpreting and suggesting alternative solutions to operational and Capital schemeissues. Reporting into the Estates Manager and also supporting the Lifecycle Manager in the effective running of the entire end to end Lifecycle works process, delivering on accountabilities including:

  • Liaison with and management of any external design consultants and architects associated with Lifecycle Schemes
  • plan and organise complex tasks often involving the wider team
  • Effective operational management of the sub-contracts and supplier agreements entered in support of the James Cook Hospital.
  • Participate as a member of the JCUH Estates Management Team, attending and holding meetings, delivering innovation, sharing good practice with other departments and contributing effectively to debate
  • Comply with the procedures as detailed in the companies Quality Assurance Manuals and Health and Safety Policies, including that of the CDM Regulations.
What youll need to do the roleExperience of working in public arena with good customer communication skills and the ability to demonstrate extensive knowledge of the construction industry with a trades background.You must have extensive well-developed financial and analytical skills and good competency to work with complex data from a variety of sources and produce detailed reports.Finally, you must possess in depth knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety and CDM Regulations, alongside knowledge of PFI contracts, preferably with experience in a similar hospital setting.Why Serco Meaningful and vital work:<span style="font-family:Tahoma, sans-
