Job Description

Position: KS2 Teacher - Year 4 (Maternity Cover)Start Date: 22nd AprilExpected duration of maternity leave: Minimum 9 monthsSalary: paid to scaleAbout the school: The school is a vibrant primary school in Middlesbrough, committed to providing an inclusive, individualised and inspirational curriculum. They aspire for their pupils to become productive, respectful, honest and reliable members of thecommunity.The Role: As a KS2 Teacher, you will be part of a phase team. The Year 3 and 4 teachers plan collaboratively to make the curriculum immersive, inclusive and inspirational.Key Responsibilities for KS2 Teacher:

  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding their children’s progress and wellbeing.
  • Participate in staff meetings/briefings, parent evenings and whole-school training events.
  • Work collaboratively within the phase and with teaching assistants and other staff members to support pupil learning.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 2
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Ability to create an inclusive classroom that values each pupil’s unique contributions.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development.
