Job Description

IT TechnicianImperial Professionals are delighted to announce that we are working in partnership with leading food manufacturer who are recruiting for an IT Technician on a Permanent basis.Salary: Up to £24,000 per annumContract Type: PermanentLocation: TeessideHours: Full TimeJob PurposeProviding comprehensive and effective 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line IT support for business systems, with a bias towards being "hands on" with physical equipment and networking.Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the IT Systems Manager to plan, build and maintain IT systems and networks across the organization.
  • Act as a contact for IT Support via telephone & the support ticketing system.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware & software faults. Ensure support tickets are updated with relevant technical information.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware such as computers, laptops, tablets, phones, network equipment, printers, and projectors.
  • Update asset registers and associated records.
  • Lay and terminate network cabling throughout buildings when required and keep network cabinets in working order.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot software, including operating systems, applications etc.
  • Microsoft Office support and development.
  • Carry out remote and on-site maintenance of systems to prevent future problems.
  • Travel between sites as necessary and to external stakeholders using own transport (paid on expenses).
  • Operate "on call" service from time to time outside normal working hours.
  • Document technical information into the IT Handbook for IT systems built/fixed to knowledge share with the department.
  • Support to IT Systems Manager on projects and any other duties that may be considered within the remit of this position.
Requirements:
  • An organized person with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and logical thinking skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team but particularly unsupervised using own initiative to identify problems and improve IT systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems, server operating systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of networking and active directory.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • You are expected to conform to relevant product, quality, safety, and legality procedures as detailed by your Line Manager.
