Job Description

MTrecs new career opportunityOur client are specialists in their market sector, they are now looking to recruit a motivated and experienced HSE manager to join their business.The Job Youll do

  • Create, develop, implement and sustain the client Health and Safety Plan and the Environmental Plan.
  • Develop and maintain occupational health and safety and environmental systems and procedures based upon approved policy plans.
  • Provide continuing advice, guidance and assistance to Line Management on matters pertaining to occupational health and safety and environmental obligations.
  • Prepare specialised documentation and liaise with external organisations and authorities on all relative matters.
  • Assist in accident investigation and ensure preventative measures are implemented.
  • Present OH&S statistics and report monthly to senior management.
  • Implement action plans and improvement projects though line of sight and other formats to maintain the Company philosophy on OH&S and environmental matters.
  • Give advice on timescales and legal requirements of monitoring in line with current legislation regarding health and safety.
  • Make the necessary changes to procedures in line with legislation amendments.
  • Communicate statutory requirements to all personnel in a timely fashion.
  • Initiate and co-ordinate education and training programmes for works grades so that they may develop their own potential.
  • Provide information and training to all employees in all aspects of OH&S.
  • Carry out Health and Safety induction of all employees.
  • Co-ordinate medical examinations, hearing tests, return to work programmes.
  • Provide guidance on methods of safe systems of work.
  • Establish contact with client and agree site visit schedule.
  • Promote OH&S awareness with sub-contractors and erection teams.
  • Ensure compliance with site specific rules.
  • Investigate accidents and dangerous occurrences, give recommendations, action plans and prevention strategies.
  • Sentinel Co-ordination
  • Manage and maintain the rail specific policies, processes, and systems in the client BMS in line with all relevant standards, regulations, and legislation.
  • Management of Sentinel Scheme Rules.
  • Management of compliance and the effective investigation and resolution to breaches in the scheme rules.
  • Management of sponsorship, pre-sponsorship, and sub-sponsorship contracts.
  • Management of medicals and drug and alcohol testing.
  • Manage the provision of PPE of staff within the scheme.
  • Manage training of staff within the scheme.
  • Manage site works to ensure they have safe systems of work, that there is regular liaison with site H&S representation, that the H&S ethos is promoted and that site-specific rules are communicated and adhered to.
About You
  • We are looking for someone that holds a NEBOSH Diploma , PIEMA or equivalent.
  • Ideal candidates will have come from a manufacturing background and have a minimum of 5 years experience.
  • Maintain safe working conditions in a good housekeeping environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
  • A team player with a successful track record in continuous improvement.

  • Salary: Negotiable depending on experience.
  • Holidays: 25 days per year (Holiday year Jan - Dec) + 8 Bank holidays.

  • Pension Scheme: Automatic enrolment 5% Employee, 3% Employer. After 1 year in April - Age related up to max 6.5.
