Job Description

Group Director - Quality and PerformanceLocation: TeessideSalary: Market Leading as well as a leading benefits package that is designed to retain and attract the best talent in our region.Job Purpose:Reporting directly to the Principal and CEO, the Group Director will lead the development and implementation of a robust accountability and performance management framework. To deputise for the Principal or Deputy Principal as appropriate.Key Strategic Responsibilities: To champion, inspire and facilitate a high quality culture across the College which drives up Quality Standards and Performance, in both Curriculum and Business Support Departments.To lead the development and implementation of a robust accountability and performance management framework which assesses quality, identifies course, department, staff or service area underperformance and areas of development and tracks progress againstthese to completion.To develop, as part of the Senior Leadership team, stretching targets (kpis) for approval at the Governing Body and to ensure accurate and regular reporting of progress against these, holding managers to account and instigating proactive intervention whentargets are missed.To directly manage the following Departments: Quality and Standards, Exams, Higher Education Quality Assurance, Management information, Sub contracting.To ensure the college is well prepared to ensure successful validation by any external body including Ofsted, ESFA, OfS - including being college nominee in any such inspections.To identify and commission internal or external audits, curriculum reviews or consultancy support as required to identify, validate or improve performance levels or ensure compliance with college policies.To ensure innovative systems are in place to enhance our business productivityTo play a key role in ensuring the College is recognised as an Outstanding Provider whilst remaining inclusive.To support the Principal in the development of the strategic plan, the monitoring against it including the production of an annual report.To coordinate cross college assessment point data collection points and to produce student reports for departments using this information.To ensure accurate and timely data reports are available to support the setting and monitoring of targets and the self-assessment processes.To provide the Chairman of Governors and the wider Governing Body with key information to allow them to exercise their responsibilities. To set and be actively involved in the attainment of objectives contained within the Colleges Strategic Plan.To lead and support College Managers in the identification and swift elimination of underperformance.To lead the preparation of the annual Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plan (QuIP) processes, including course reviews.Lead on achievement of compliance accreditations such as ISO and other related kitemarks.Support the identification, management and reporting of capability processes linked to underperformance in all areas of provision.To ensure the creation, distribution and active use of rigorous, timely and accurate performance data, including attendance, retention, achievement, progress, satisfaction, withdrawal, destination and a wide range of meaningful business support kpis.To ensure accurate and timely reports are available for student progression rates to internal courses, apprenticeships, higher education and employment.To ensure key stakeholders receive timely and accurate performance information including Tees Valley Combined Authority, ESFA, OfS and DfETo ensure that the Departments you manage are high performing and responsive.Regularly review all Quality Assurance Policies and procedures to ensure relevance and compliance.To support departments to make swift improvements through advice, experience, coaching or external resource.To be the College data owner responsible to the Data Protection Officer to ensure compliance with the Colleges Data Protection Policy.To show an active commitment to the Colleges Single Equality Scheme, Quality Frameworks and Health, Safety & Welfare Procedures.To actively participate in Continuous Professional Development including the introduction of new technologies to allow you to contribute effectively to the success of the College.To carry out such other appropriate duties commensurate with your skills, knowledge and experience.The College may, in consultation with you, need to vary these duties from time to time in order to respond to the changing requirements of the College.Requirements: QualificationsDegree or equivalent qualificationGrade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).Qualified teacherExtensive FE related training including safeguardingKnowledge & SkillsA passion for pedagogy and an up to date knowledge of evidence-based practiceKnowledge of FE funding, accountability and policyKnowledge of local economic needsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with staff at all levels across the College.High level of digital competencyExcellent written and oral communicationAbility to use data to make informed decisions.Effective prioritisation across a complex and high paced organisationExperience Leading and managing a large and complex curriculum department, faculty or small college.Managing all provision types including SEN, Study programmes, Adult programmes, Apprenticeships and Higher EducationOfsted inspectionsPublic speaking and presenting to audiences and committeesDesigning effective curriculum modelsDeveloping effective staff cpd programmesEffective performance management of staffDeveloping and implementing business strategiesFor more information or for a confidential discussion around this opportunity please feel free to contact Anthony Antoniou at Imperial Recruitment Group
