Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to join a market leading organisation based in Middlesbrough. The ideal candidate will have previously been a management accountant and ideally have knowledge of grant applications and funding.Main duties will include:Financial Management:

  • Develop and implement financial management systems.
  • Partner the organisation to achieving its strategic goals.
  • Monitor project budgets, expenditures, resources and funding sources to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Prepare financial reports, including budget forecasts, variance analysis, and cash flow projections.
  • Conduct periodic financial reviews and audits to assess business and project performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and communicate business and management information.
Grant Compliance:
  • Stay up to date with relevant grant regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions.
  • Work closely with project managers and commercial teams to prepare and submit accurate financial reports.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during grant audits.
Financial Analysis and Planning:
  • Analyse project financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to project stakeholders to support decision-making and improve project performance.
  • Conduct financial feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for new grant opportunities or project expansions.
Team Leadership:
  • Leading a small team and provide guidance and training to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders on project management, program development, and procurement, to ensure seamless coordination and integration of financial activities.
  • Provide business and management information to all internal stakeholders to ensure financial targets and expectations are effectively managed.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a FBP, financial controller, management accountant or similar role, with experience of grant-funded projects.
  • Experience of grant applications.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
