37.5 Hours per weekWe are seeking an enthusiastic, proficient and experienced BSE accredited echocardiographer to join our expanding echocardiography team. This is an unrivalled opportunity to work at the leading edge of cardiac technology and patient care in a dynamic and innovative environment. Working with state-of-the-art echocardiographic equipment in a fully digital lab you will have the opportunity to work in all aspects of echocardiography, including 3D, in one of the North’s leading cardiac centres. There is also the flexibility -experience dependent for the post holder to work within other CIU/Cardiac catheter lab areas to maintain interest and competence.The Echocardiography Unit is a large busy department which provides a service across the whole James Cook and Friarage site along with external community clinics. The department offers a range of imaging procedures: Transthoracic, TOE, DSE, exercise echocardiography, contrast echo, CRT optimisation, physiologist-run valve clinics as well as echo support to research trials.The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is a large tertiary referral centre for cardiothoracic services. There are 17 Cardiologists (2 based within the Cardiology Unit at the Friarage) 7 Surgeons,35 Cardiac Physiologists and 20 support staff across two sites providing an efficient and high quality service to patients. We currently have 8 dedicated echo rooms within the Trust, 2 of which are designed to perform stress and exercise echocardiography.The Cardiac Investigation Unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology which allows us to both secondary and tertiary referrals.
