This leading organisation in the chemicals sector is looking for an EC&I Engineer to be the companys Competent Person for all Electrical, Control & Instrumentation legislative compliance.We are looking for an experienced Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer who will be predominantly based at our clients Middlesbrough site, but you must also be willing to travel and carry out duties on other sites throughout the UK.This is a very exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to join a developing engineering department within a growing company at the forefront of the Chemical industry.The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of the role with particular experience around COMAH, DSEAR/ATEX and Functional Safety (SIS/SIF/SIL). Experience in liaising with competent authorities (HSE/EA) would also be an advantage.EMPLOYMENT DETAILS* Full-time / Permanent* Based Middlesbrough - willingness to travel to other sites when required* Highly Competitive Salary and Additional BenefitsRESPONSIBILITIESBe the company EC&I competent person responsible for all aspects of EC&I legislative compliance:* COMAH compliance* DSEAR/ATEX compliance, inspection & rectification to BS60079* Fixed Electrical Inspection compliance to BS7671* Functional Safety Compliance & Management to BS61511Provide EC&I expertise to the Projects team:* Project compliance* EC&I design support, completion and handoverActively be involved in site maintenance policy development to increase reliability:* EC&I routines and preventative maintenance* EC&I obsolescence & redundant kit programme* Provision of close technical support to site maintenance teamsPlay an active part in the continued development of the company engineering/maintenance department:* Management & development of site EC&I drawings* Development of company EC&I procedures, standards, forms & reports* Introduce industry best practices where applicable* Help develop useful engineering KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)* Partake in site safety meetings, HAZID, HAZOP & Criticality studies* Assist in the development/competency of the site maintenance teamKNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCEEssential:* HND in an EC&I discipline* Working knowledge of DSEAR/ATEX* Experience of working on a COMAH facility* Working knowledge of BS7671* Working knowledge of functional safety, safety instrumented systems & safety integrity levelsDesirable:* Relevant engineering degree* Functional Safety qualification (e.g. FS Engineer (TV Rheinland) Certificate)* Control system design experience* Competent with AutoCAD and/or MS Visio for ECI drawings* HAZOP lead qualificationPlease apply with an up-to-date CV, detailing your suitability for this role.Key Appointments UK Ltd will assess your suitability for the role based on the information contained in your CV and application.
