Job Description

Our client is seeking a Director of Estates, Facilities and Capital to further enhance the knowledge and expertise across our organisation due to the planned retirement of their current Director. As one of the largest providers of mental health, learning disability and autism services in the country, the client covers a huge geography that spans two Integrated Care Systems (ICS); Humber Coast and Vale ICS to the south, and North East and North CumbriaICS to the North. We have substantial inpatient facilities including at hospitals in Middlesbrough, Durham, York, Scarborough and Darlington alongside further community-based teams and services. With an annual income of c £420m and around 7,500 staff, thisis a diverse and growing Trust which has prioritised being a great partner with colleagues including health system, local authority and university partners, and the wider community of providers including voluntary, statutory and community sector organisations.Our leaders are collectively committed to role modelling our values of respect, compassion and responsibility, and ensuring these are core to the way in which we will deliver both clinical and corporate services in the future; This is an exciting time tojoin us.We are looking for an exceptional and inspirational Director of Estates, Facilities and Capital to provide senior leadership to the Trusts estates infrastructure, facilities services, capital investment programme and sustainability ambitions.You will be a highly visible member of the Trusts senior leadership team, making an active contribution to the running of the Trust, advancing quality solutions which enable the cost effective delivery of health services, and supporting the growth of ourspecialist hospital and community-based services as a leading healthcare provider in the Tees Esk and Wear Valley communities.You will be an estates and facilities expert with proven experience of managing complex projects in a large organisation including capital projects and schemes that have been co-created e.g. with service users, carers, partners and colleagues. You will bethe senior lead for related risk management and statutory compliance responsibilities for the Trust, providing Board assurance on all such matters. You will be responsible for ensuring patients are treated in the safest possible environment and that colleagueshave the optimal conditions in which to work and to deliver care to patients and their families.You will also play a big part with our health and care partners across the Trusts Integrated Care Systems to ensure services are always improving, including by developing system estates and capital plans that are informed by clinical priorities and by sharingbest practice. Your role will include being an advocate for parity of esteem for access to capital for mental health, learning disability and autism.You will be a dynamic, values-driven and politically astute leader committed to partnership working and passionate about the equality, diversity and inclusion agenda.
