Job Description

Seven Nursing is looking for a Dietitian with experience of Mental Health/Learning Disabilities/ Eating Disorders Dietics to fill an exclusive opportunity near Middlesbrough.The role:To provide and deliver specialist dietetic assessments and interventions for patients within the specialist areas of work primarily working within and across the nutrition support clinical pathways, but with some flexibility to support other clinical areas as appropriate..To provide clinical leadership within the specialist areas of work.To support the development of other more junior members of staff.To actively contribute to service development and improvement.Main Duties and Responsibilities ClinicalTo use range of knowledge and experience, to provide comprehensive specialist assessment and advice to patients with complex conditions.To use a range of complex clinical and medical information to inform clinical nutritional assessments and direct clinical interventions and advice.To use clinical reasoning skills to interpret and analyse a range of complex clinical, (complex numerical calculations, interpretation of clinical biochemistry and psychosocial / psychological information) and medical /diagnostic information; to inform clinical nutritional assessments, and direct clinical interventions, from a range of options for clients with a range of complex conditions / multi pathologies.To manage own caseload within specialist area / clinical pathways working within.To provide support to and deliver dietetic interventions flexibly to and within clinical pathways outside specialist areas as clinically competent to do so and appropriate to and agreed to within the dietetic services.To work collaboratively with MDT colleagues to provide holistic and coordinated care where appropriate, for clinical caseload, and encourage this collaboration within wider services discussion as appropriateTo be responsible for the planning, implementing, negotiating, motivating and monitoring of the specialist patient care using patient driven and centred goals to focus and direct therapeutic interventions.To demonstrate a working knowledge of and work within a range of relevant clinical and professional policies and codes of practice to ensure effective, safe and evidenced based practise is delivered.To recommend, plan and contribute to or lead on policy / protocol development within specialist area / clinical pathway in line with national / clinical / regional best practices standards and experience which may impact on specialist dietetic services area and beyond.To provide training / education to other professionals / non professionals within your specialist area.To work within a variety of settings such as; outpatient clinics, nursing / residential homes, schools, individual private homes.To maintain records as an autonomous practitioner in accordance with legislation, professional and service policy.To lead on or actively contribute to the successful Clinical Placements of students within the servicesQualifications:Drivers LicenceHCPC registeredEvidence of Post Graduate training.Experience: Respect the confidentiality and privacy of patients and staff at all time - Health and Safety.To comply with all aspects of the health and safety policies and to participate in mandatory training as required.Maintain at all times a safe working environment and report any issues of concern as appropriate.Compliance: HCPC Registration.Travel: To travel to and from the location independently.
