Job Description

I am recruiting for a Customs Coordinator for our client who are based in Middlesbrough on the river Tees.Our client is the UKs leading independent maritime services company, providing end-to-end shipping solutions across Europe. From customs to chartering and logistics to marine, their services are delivered with a professional, personal and practical approachthat takes care of the complex and goes the extra mile to deliver.The business have increased headcount in the Customs team and very successfully but the orders keep coming and the department just keeps growing - they therefore need to recruit an additional permanent person to join their current customs team.Essentially the role is customer service via phone and admin/data entry. Whilst first learning the role it will be pretty repetitive but they are guaranteeing level 2 and 3 qualifications in customs (youd become a qualified Customs Agent) and as far assectors go its incredibly interesting once you get in to it with many prospects.Job scope and responsibilities -1. Completion of customs declarations (Import & Export)2. Communication with all relevant parties on customs issues; Importers, Exporters & HMRC3. Customs compliance - Ensuring all work is carried to company standardsDesirable (not essential) Skills -1. Experience working within a customs and / or freight forwarding environment2. Experience in customs clearance and associated systems; ASM Sequoia, CHIEF, Destin83. A working knowledge of customs legislation and the customs tariff4. Accuracy and attention to detail5. The ability to work both independently and as part of a teamWorking pattern is Monday to Friday 8-4 or 9-5.This role comes with a competitive salary, pension contributions and private heathcare.
