Commercial Contracts OfficerLegal Affairs Group / LEG Location: Cambridge/Middlesbrough/Port Talbot/SheffieldContract: PermanentHours: Full timeSalary: Competitive rateDescription of role:An opportunity has arisen to join an active, involved and motivated commercial/legal team whose activities are business critical and include proposal and tender submission, commercial contract management, (delivering over £20m of one-to-one research andconsultancy work), corporate governance, property management and intellectual property (patents and licensing).The Commercial Contracts Officer role is to oversee, manage and deliver commercial contracts across various technology sections within the organisation.Security clearance:UK security clearance is required for this role.About us:TWI Ltd is one of the worlds leading independent research and technology organisations, with expertise in materials joining and engineering processes.   • Being the point of contact for your project(s) for any contractual information and agreements including obtaining and providing legal advice
  • Being responsible for assisting with the preparation of proposal and bid submissions in accordance with appropriate governance and policies
  • Leading the review and negotiation of a wide range of commercial/legal agreements with our clients (Members), gaining acceptance and agreement on commercial/legal issues and amendments
  • Reviewing calls for tender and bids to highlight potential commercial/contractual risks and opportunities
  • Advising on commercial terms including: milestone delivery and payment scheduling
  • Ensure that all legal documents are signed in appropriate time frames, communicating directly with our clients legal and procurement teams
  • Assist project change requests and agree contract amendments and implementing these in accordance with change governance procedures.
  • Performing financial management of commercial contracts (invoicing, auditing support);
  • Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing Members, focusing on collaboration
  • Observing compliance to legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements
  • Undertaking day-to-day administration and maintenance of the company systems
