1 x post at The James Cook University Hospital1 x Post at Friarage HospitalSouth Tees NHS Hospitals Foundation Trust is currently seeking 2 Clinical Coders (one post to be based at James Cook University Hospital and the other post at the Friarage Hospital).The Trust’s Clinical Coding Department is responsible for the translation of medical terminology and clinical data, as written by the Clinicians, to describe the patient’s diagnoses, treatment or reason for seeking medical attention into a coded format which is nationally and internationally recognised.Our Clinical Coding Department is evolving in order to meet the increasing demands of the NHS and to support the Trust’s business activity. We are looking to recruit two dedicated and motivated individuals. The post is challenging and will require you to undertake extensive training which will be provided. An understanding of anatomy and physiology and a familiarity with clinical language are desiredYou will be expected to work towards attaining Accredited Clinical Coding status to achieve Agenda for Change Band 4 level.You will have knowledge of computers, coding procedures & conventions; knowledge of medical terminology, anatomical and physiological terms; acquired through work-based training.This role will require you to work to strict deadlines, whilst still paying attention to detail and always maintaining a high level of accuracy.
