Behaviour Support Assistant Full-time role (8.30am-3.30pm) SEN Provision in Middlesbrough Janaury start Long-term role availableThe SchoolAn SEN provision in Middlesbrough is seeking a behaviour support assistant who can work closely alongside young people with SEN, aged 10-19. The young peoples needs vary and may include Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties and associatedbehavioural difficulties.Class sizes are small, generally between 6-7 students per class with learning led by a teacher and supported by an appropriate number of teaching assistants reflecting the individual needs and abilities of the group. You may also be asked to support studentson a 1:1 basis, you could be placed anywhere, dependent upon your previous experience, abilities, and skills.The RoleThis role is due to start in Janaury, depending on the shortlisted candidates availability. The Head Teacher has said they are willing to delay the start date to have the right support in place. This role will initially start on an ongoing basis however thisschool in particular work in close partnership with Teaching Personnel and have appointed a number of staff on a temporary and permanent basis.Your working day will involve supporting pupils in varying subjects across the curriculum. The school cover secondary key stages and all subjects are delivered in ability and age based; differentiated to meet the individual needs of all the children withinthe class group. You will also assist with the development of social and emotional skills and encourage positive behaviours, relationships and outcomes.ApplicantsThe school are open minded in terms of applicants experience, as this is a challenging environment you will ideally have prior experience supporting individuals with additional needs. The school try and recruit based on the unique skills a candidate can bringto the role, giving their pupils exposure to new experiences.
