An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work as an Assistant Practitioner AHP Band 4 alongside the Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language and Dietician Therapy team with the inpatient Children & Young Peoples Service at West Lane Middlesbrough. The team supports young people with mental health and learning disability or learning needs in the Teesside area. The post is based inpatients and therefore it is essential that applicants can commit to shift working.This is a full time post working under the direction of the qualified Therapists. You will assist the Therapists to assess and deliver therapy and activity within the objectives of the treatment plan. In addition there will be opportunities to develop skills through the provision of group therapy sessions as well as individually-tailored therapy sessions to service users. Also part of the role will be to coordinate and plan with the service users their structured day programmes which will include involving education and the MDT.You will require excellent communication, time management and organisational skills and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.You will be supported by experienced Therapists receiving supervision and CPD opportunities.For further details / informal visits contact:Yvette RedwoodAHP LeaDyvette.redwood@cntw.nhs.uk
