37.5 Hours per weekAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and dynamic team at James Cook University Hospital as an apprentice, delivering Neurophysiology and Sleep services in the Middlesbrough/Tees Valley area. You will be primarily working alongside 1 Principal Clinical Neurophysiologist, 1 Highly Specialised Clinical Physiologist, 6 Specialised Clinical Physiologists, 1 Clinical Physiologists, 4 Consultant Neurophysiologists and an Administration Team.The successful candidate will be supported by the team through in-house training, and opportunity will be given to gain experience and develop skills. Some travel to other hospital sites may be required.The department of Neurophysiology is responsible for providing a comprehensive, highly specialist clinical diagnostic service to patients of all ages from a range of specialities suffering from a wide range of medical disorders including those which may be neurological and/or psychiatric in nature.This position is a full time 3 year 6 month fixed term contract, with a substantive post available following successful completion of the degree apprenticeship in Healthcare Science level 6, specialising in Neurophysiology which is delivered at Bristol University for which you will need to travel, and attaining the ANS part 1 professional examination. The degree is funded and the successful candidate will be given a fixed amount for travel and subsistence. The ANS part 1 professional examination will be self-funded.The post holder will be involved in all aspects of clinical Neurophysiology, including Electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials (EP) and Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS), Sleep studies including Polysomnography (PSG) and Multiple Sleep Latency Testing (MLST).The successful candidate must possess:
