Job Description

Job Title: Acute Inpatient DieticianGrade: Band 5, 6, and 7 all consideredTrust: South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation TrustLocation: The James Cook University Hospital, TS4 3BWHours: Full or part time over a Monday to Friday servicePay rate: £14.92 - £22.40End Date: May 2023 (subject to review & change)South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are currently seeking organised and motivated candidates to fulfil dietician opportunities within the trust on long term placement contracts. Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with excellent communicationskills looking to embark on a new opportunity within the NHS If so, we would like to hear from you today!The candidate must be able to demonstrate initiative, prioritise a complex workload, and work both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a team. The department require a candidate who is confident with Adult Nutritional Support and has experiencewith inpatient enteral feeding. They would also ideally have experience of discharging patients who require home enteral feeding as well as acute hospital experience, but they are open to considering all candidates.The trust can offer on-site accommodation for 3-4 months to the right applicant - which means theres no need to travel! The hospital is situated in a beautiful area just above the North York Moors National Park and only 20 minutes from the sea. With thenearest train station only a 10-minute walk, there are great transport links to cities and seaside towns.Role Details:

  • To provide evidence-based specialist dietetic assessment, management and treatment of patients within the framework of clinical governance. This may include but is not exclusive to the following areas
o Cardiologyo Surgeryo Gastroenterologyo Diabeteso Oncology / Haematologyo Older Peoples Medicineo Community nutrition support, including enteral tube feedingo General Medicineo Neurological conditionso Respiratory medicineo Stroke Medicineo Spinal Injurieso Orthopaedics
  • To act as a source of expertise to healthcare professionals, dietitians, and others in dietetic management within the above specialities
  • To plan and organise on-going dietetic services in the relevant specialities
  • To work flexibly and adapt to meet the changing needs of the service
The Successful Candidate Will:
  • Be HCPC registered
  • Hold a Degree in Dietetics or equivalent
  • Have previous NHS experience
  • Have experience of discharging patients who require home enteral feeding
  • Have acute hospital experience
  • Be confident with Adult Nutritional Support
  • Have experience with inpatient enteral feeding
  • Practice in accordance with the professional, ethical, and legal codes of the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), and Trust and NHS protocols and guidelines
