Job Description

Youth WorkerFull-Time PositionTemporary position20th February 2023 - 31st August 2023Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Worker work within a local primary school, in Halewood. The primary school has a designated special provision for children with additional needs, such as those with learning difficultiesor disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and guidance to young people, helping them to develop the skills they need to make positive choices and progress in their lives.Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work with young people aged 5-11, including those with additional needs, to develop their social, emotional, and behavioural skills
  • Support young people to set and achieve personal goals
  • Build positive relationships with young people, parents, and other professionals
  • Deliver group work and one-to-one support sessions
  • Provide guidance on issues such as bullying, self-esteem, and goal-setting
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of youth work programs
  • Attend meetings and provide updates on the progress of young people
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with agency policies and procedures
  • Keep accurate records and report any concerns to the appropriate person
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in youth work or a related field
  • Experience of working with young people in a school or community setting, including those with additional needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to working with young people
  • A full driving license and access to a car is desirable
