Job Description

Parkinson Gray Associates have been engaged to recruit for Quantity Surveyor on behalf of the independent contractor, offering a complete construction service, in the retail, leisure, commercial industries and local authorities.Location: MerseysideSalary: £60K-65K + Car Allowance + Progression + Other BenefitsEmployment type: Permanent, full-timePurpose of the Role:You will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of projects and will be working on a number of projects at any one time. This will include assessing drawings, sourcing suppliers and materials, value engineering, budget control and evaluation.Your role will be office based, with visits to sites.Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce tenders for new projects.
  • Produce accurate take-offs for projects.
  • Attend client meetings throughout the project life-cycle, building strong, sustainable business relationships with the client.
  • Ensuring project costings are met.
  • Ensuring compliance with the project requirements
  • Prepare, and submit the final account on completion of works.
  • Review, prepare, and issue Forecast Final Account (Cost Report)
  • Assist throughout the pre and post-contract phases of all projects.
  • To undertake pre/post tender documentation and evaluation.
  • Pro actively managing and confirming the compliance of contractors/consultants to ensure contract terms and conditions are met.
  • To negotiate and produce final accounts for payment by the client.
  • Manage the payment of subcontractors, measured work and variations are paid in a timely manner.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Proven Quantity Surveying experience in Fit Out or New Build projects
  • Happy to undertake site visits when required.
  • A full UK driving license.
  • BSc Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • Experience in quantity surveying role preferably within the new build/fit-out/renovation.
  • Excellent financial cost control skills and ability to communicate the financial position of contracts to stakeholders and clients on a monthly basis.
