Job Description

MECHANICAL BIAS MAINTENANCE ENGINEERCHEMICALS/MANUFACTURING PRODUCTION INDUSTRYKIRKBY AREA4on4off 6-6 (2 days 2 nights)£37,500+ Training, Pension and HolidaysDue to an increase in customer demand in our clients business, they are now recruiting for a Mechanically Bias Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their team in the Kirkby Area on a 4on4off based position.This role offers the opportunity to work for a true independent market leader and established global brand. With progressive training and development this role allows potential promotion in the longer term. With a long established presence on a UK wide scaleand a consistent order book this opportunity will appeal to a candidate looking for job security and a technical challenge.Role Description

  • Customer focused on attitude towards breakdowns
  • Understand plant priorities and liaise with Shift managers / Production Planning to ensure breakdowns are prioritised correctly
  • Accurate completion of repair handover to Production Management Team.
  • Reports in delays in repair to Shift Management team
  • Completion of breakdown tasks in a timely manner aiming to minimise shift downtime on
  • Conduct PPMs and Maintenance on production and extrusion machinery
Skills and Qualifications
  • Time served multi-skilled Engineer - Mechanical bias (Mechanical City & Guilds - Level 3).
  • Electrical - 17th or 18th Edition.
  • Minimum of 5 years post apprenticeship experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in plastics production desirable.
  • Experienced at interpreting electrical / mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
  • Basic computer literacy, as well as experience of using CMMS software desirable.
  • Ability to self-manage during shift hours.
  • Good communicator across shifts within Engineering team and with Shift managers / Process Operators.
