Job Description

Cyber Security ManagerBand 2: £53,543 - £61,921 + a recruitment allowance of £8,500 per yearBootle/Cheltenham/LondonWe perform a unique and vital role.So will you. The challengeOften in the public eye, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is an evolvingpublic corporation. Essentially, were responsible for shaping and delivering the regulation of nuclear safety and security across the UK. To carry out this hugely important role, our digital information and systems need to be appropriately protected. As theONR Cyber Security Manager, youll help keep them safe - and develop our function in the process.The role Youll join us on the front line, delivering operational cyber security capabilities for ONR. The main point of contact for cyber security issues acrossthe organisation, youll have a central role within a small but growing team. Here, youll take ownership of cyber incidents, lead day to day cyber operations and look to improve our capabilities, shaping the functions progress. With a mix of strategic andtactical thinking required, youll enjoy a varied role where youll collaborate widely and make a crucial difference.The person A dedicated professional, youll bring a degree in Cyber Security (or similar). Youll also have relevant security accreditations,such as CISSP, CISM, SSCP, CCSP, CSSLP (or equivalent). Backing up these qualifications, youll have proven hands-on experience that inspires trust in your expertise. Ideally, youve worked with HMG security policies and NCSC security guidance with a publicsector organisation, (although a private sector background is welcome with an awareness of the HMG and NCSC requirements). Whats important is the ability to manage the operational security of cloud-based platforms such as O365, Azure, AWS, and tackle cyberthreats through modern cloud architectural techniques. With leadership and teamwork also key, strong communication skills are essential. The rewardsWe offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £53,543 - £61,921 plus a recruitmentallowance of £8,500 per year. Furthermore, youll be eligible for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits).
