Job Description

We are looking for a very special Credit Controller / Sales Ledger person to join our client based in South-East Leicester. (22 mins from M6 J2, 4 mins from M1 J21).This company has doubled its turnover in the last few years to over £60m. This role joins a small and very friendly finance team, taking full responsibility for the sales ledger.Duties include:

  • Ownership of sales ledger of c700 live accounts
  • Sales ledger account set up, allocation and housekeeping
  • Monthly invoicing run
  • Identification of overdue debt
  • Overdue debt chasing (established procedure to follow)
  • Provide support to In-house Council on legal debts
  • Monthly Direct Debit collections
  • Raising of adhoc invoices and credit notes
  • Taking of credit card payments over the phone
  • Resolution of invoice queries raised by the customer
  • Supporting the wider finance team with adhoc duties
The credit control duties are very straight forward, focused on resolving missed direct debits, the majority of which are accidental and can be cleared up easily by taking a card payment over the phone, but we require someone extremely organised and ableto set themselves tasks and ensure that queries are answered and followed through promptly to allow payment to be taken.Excel skills and being able to manipulate formulas are also essential.The team are very well established here, the newest member is currently serving their 5th year. They are happy and motivated and understand that having a bit of fun is all part of the working day.The role is 100% office based, hours are 9-5.30 and they offer 28 days holiday.
